Hi Morgan. These questions are a good attempt to get at the answers you are trying to find. I might be a more specific in some questions. For instance, consider these revisions:
1. What were your feelings towards the United States directly after 9/11 happened? What are your feelings now toward the U.S.? How have they changed?
2. Have any particular events or occurrences influenced these feelings?
3. How do you think our response to 9/ll could have been different than the steps the Bush administration taken and what effects do you think these alternate actions might have had on feelings of nationalism in our country and attitudes toward our country by foreigners?
4. Do you feel that other countries view the United States as you do?
5. Why or why not?
6. What role do you think nationalism plays in the U.S. today? Do you percieve nationalism to be on the rise?
7. Why or why not?
8. To describe your feelings towards the United States in general would you use the word respect or disrespect? What reasons can you give for your answer?
9. If willing to say, are you for or against the current war in Iraq?

I think you did a really good job of creating non bias questions about the war. Hopefully you will get some good responses in return.

Hey I got your email but I figured I would just respond to your questions right here. Would you mind answering my survey questions as well? I am going to update them and post new ones according to you and Lauries suggestions so maybe you could look at them tomorrow. Thanks!
1.Right after the war, I would say I had a surge of patriotism just like most other Americans did. I do not feel the same way now. I am now slightly bitter towards the way the US is acting in the fact that we are still fighting the war.
2. The continuation of the war and the downfall of our economy. Everything really started after 9/11 and at first it seemed positive, but now, years later, I do not feel as if things are as positive as they were before.
3. I think the steps taken right after the war were good, we definitely needed to do something about the terrorists, but I am more concerned about the steps our country is taking right now.
4. I feel that other countries look at us as being power hungry.
5. I think they look at us like this because if me, a US citizen, does not understand what our government is doing currently, then how can our actions be throughly explained to other countries who are outsiders.
6. Truthfully, I just looked up the definition of nationalism because I honestly was not quite sure what it meant. Dictionary.com defined it as devotion and loyalty to ones country. I think it plays a big role in our country.
7. I think it affects us because people in the US are proud people. Everyone likes to boast that they are from the US and I honestly think this is because a lot of Americans think they are better than everyone else. Therefore, why many other countries perceive us as arrogant
8. I would say respect. I think it is very brave how we stand up for ourselves.
9. I was originally for the war, but because of the long continuation I am not for the war anymore.
